Rob Barton

I’m Rob, married to Emily and we have a son called Sam, Sam had a complete AVSD heart defect and had surgery for this at 4 months old, since then all has been good.  Sam goes to a Special Needs school in Guildford called Pond Meadow, and he loves it there.  As a family we have been members of Stepping Stones since 2009 and I then became a trustee in November 2011.  The main part of my role is looking after our activities from Primary up until Secondary age 16 , along with our main party event such as Christmas Party and Summer Picnics.  I also took over the position of Vice Chair of Stepping Stones DS in November 2015, and still hold Vice Chair now for the operations team.  My main job outside of Stepping Stones is in IT as a Senior Technical Support Engineer.  I have always worked in an IT background and because of this I also support the various systems that Stepping Stones uses, and do like a good spreadsheet or two 🙂  I really enjoy what I do for Stepping Stones, and I have met lots of people since becoming a trustee and made lots of friends, I especially like seeing our members enjoying the activities we provide and seeing everyone at various events we run.
