Social activities & family events for all ages
From festive celebrations to community outings, our events create joyful memories, lasting friendships, and a strong sense of belonging for children, young people, and their families.
Social Activities & Events
Stepping Stones DS runs a wide range of social activities and events throughout the year for our children, young people, and their families. These events are a chance to come together, have fun, and feel part of a welcoming community. From group outings, the annual pantomime trip, and festive celebrations to discos and summer days at Camp Mohawk, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Children and young people can try new experiences, grow in confidence, and build friendships, while parents and carers connect, share ideas, and support one another. These moments of fun and friendship have become a special part of Stepping Stones DS, helping families feel included, supported, and celebrated.

The Difference Social Activities Make

Growing Friendships and Confidence
Social activities bring families together, strengthening the Stepping Stone DS community and creating supportive connections that last beyond each event. At our core, we are a family of families.
“Thank you so much for all the effort, time and planning that goes into hosting socials. They are such a treat and a great way to connect with the rest of the SSDS community“

Family Fun and Inclusive Opportunities
Social activities give children, young people, and siblings the chance to try new experiences, build friendships, and enjoy time together as part of an inclusive community.
“It’s lovely to have something for the older group, the laser tag was beyond awesome and it was inspiring to see our young people do archery so well. I loved that secondary age siblings could take part too.“

Accessible and Welcoming for All
No-cost, judgement-free activities make it possible for every family to take part, helping children and parents feel included, supported, and part of a community where they truly belong.
“We love being able to see other families and to be in a safe space we know we wont be judged. We love that you have been able to offer social activities for free – we often struggle to get out to soft play or other centres due to costs“
